Otis Elkin

Otis L. Elkin, age 82, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital on May 13, 2024.

He was born January 10, 1942, to the late Rolland and Helen (Swartz) Elkin in Estherville, IA. Otis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Iowa Western Community College in 2000 as the Dean of Vocational Technical Education.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Elkin and Larry Elkin.

Otis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Elkin; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Michelle Elkin; brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Linda Elkin; grandsons, Marshall (Kaylie), Colter, Britton (Natalie), Saddler, and Lander Elkin; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Salem United Methodist Church on Friday, May 17, 2024. Interment will take place later at Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
