Raymond "Ray" Christensen

Raymond "Ray" Christensen, age 89, passed away June 16, 2025. He was born May 28, 1936 to Fred and Laveta (Snipes) Christensen.

Ray dedicated 27 years of service to the Council Bluffs Fire Department and was a proud member of Local 15 Firefighters Union. He was also a longtime member of the Council Bluffs Fish and Game Club.

An avid outdoorsman, Ray loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his chesapeake bay retrievers. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice Christensen; sisters, Virginia Bergman, and Gloria Johnson; brothers, Fred D. Christensen Jr. and Donald L. Christensen; and daughter - in- law, Christine "Chris" Christensen.

Ray is survived by his sons, Ed Christensen, Fred Christensen, Ted (Kim) Christensen, Tim (Anne) Christensen; grandchildren, Brian (Brandy), John (Katie), Stacy, Nikki (Adam), Lauren (Nolan), Rae (Matt), Sarah, Hannah (Alex), Madeline (Payton), Andrew; numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
