Richard Boyd

Richard Boyd, age 74, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital on May 7, 2026.

He was born December 5, 1951, to the late Richard and Miriam (Hieronymus) Boyd in Shelby, NE. Richard graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1970 and then retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Boyd; step-son, Douglas Brown.

Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Patti Boyd; sons, Richard Boyd (Mirian Gomez) and Steven Boyd (Jamie VanderStappen); daughter, Michelle Williby (Zach); step-children, Brian Kirke (Tabitha), Laurie Brown (Bryan Strong), and Tim Brown (Becki Storm); sisters, Lynne Boyd (David Neely) and Carol Swanger; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends; beloved boxers, Thor and Remi.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM with visitation during the hour prior at Saint John Lutheran Church on Friday, May 15, 2026. Memorials are suggested to his family.
