Richard John Tichy

Richard J. "Rick" Tichy, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on August 5, 2026.

He was born April 30, 1956, to the late Willard and Elizabeth (Demerath) Tichy in Creighton, NE. Rick worked at Skarda for a number of years before founding his own RADON Mitigation and Home Inspection Business. In 2008, he and his late wife, Cathy opened a Molly Maid Franchise. In 2020 they sold the business and retired. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family and was very close to his nieces and nephews. He particularly enjoyed his farm in Knox County Nebraska.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Tichy; sister, Joannie Marshall.

Richard is survived by his grandson, Cody Hein; siblings, Gary Tichy (Kathy), Jeanne Tinkham (Ron), and Julie Trenhaile (Perry); nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The family will direct memorials.
