Robert L (Bob) Wright, age 90 of Missouri Valley, passed away on Saturday, November 26 at Immanuel Medical Center. Bob was born near Loveland, lowa to the late James E and Hazel (Belt) Wright on June 23, 1932. He grew up on farms near Woodbine and in the Loveland area. He was a graduate of Missouri Valley High School in 1950. Bob served in the Army during the Korean conflict from 1953 to 1955 and was a corporal stationed in Korea. Bob married Michaela (Mickey) Powell on April 14, 1956. They had two children, Teresa (Reeh) and Robert M. (Bobby). Bob helped farm his family farm for many years. He worked for 38 years for Griffin Pipe in Council Bluffs as a test press operator and retired from there. Bob was a Golden Gloves boxing champion in his younger life, and played baseball on the town teams around Harrison County. Bob enjoyed dancing all through life. He liked going to the dog races and going to the casino, watching the Raiders and lowa play football, going for car rides with his friend Gary, and spending time with his family. He attended many athletic events at Missouri Valley Schools. He had a great fondness for the Missouri Valley Athletic Programs.
He had a great smile and would love a chance to joke or tease.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickey in 1992; son, Robert (Bobby); brothers, James, Frank, Lester, Edward, Kenneth and Raymond (Pete) Wright and sisters, Eva (Arrick) and Betty (Bertelson).
Bob is survived by his daughter, Teresa (George) Reeh; grandchildren, Jamie (Janeice) Fouts, Angela Wright (Derek Smith), Sheila (Brian) Muell and Dawson Wright; and great-grandchildren, Eli and Emmitt Fouts; Xavier, Zaine and Ava Smith, and Michaela and Addison Muell and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, December 3, 2022, visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. Burial at Grange Cemetery.
