Robert John Meier

Robert John "Bob" Meier, age 81, passed away at Methodist Hospital on February 18, 2026.

He was born April 12, 1944, to the late Vincent and Loretta (Nielsen) Meier in Danbury, IA. Bob graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1962. He earned a bachelor's degree from Peru State College. Bob proudly served his country in the United State Navy and retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a longtime member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor, and its wedded band group.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Meier.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenrose Meier; daughter and son-in-law, Gina & Taylor Walet; son, Robert John Meier II; sister-in-law, Barb Meier; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Roxanne Meier; sister, Marge Cooley; grandchildren, Brooke Dolan and Jack Dolan; a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM with visitation during the hour prior to the service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor on Monday, February 23, 2026. Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place that afternoon in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor or Treynor Fire and Rescue.
