Roberto Martinez

Roberto (Locs) Martinez, 44, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on October 15, 2026.
He was born September 28, 1982 to Joaquin Barajas and Christina Martinez, in
Lindsay, California.

Roberto was preceded in death by his grandmother Leduvina Trinidad and his sister
Rocio Martinez.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Samantha Dingman; his children, Damion
(Kortni) Madsen, Heidi (Skyler) Frederick, Roberto (Lexi) Martinez Jr., and Celena
Martinez; Grandchildren and the lights of his life Easton, Laetyn, EJ, Zander, Karter,
Rylynn, and Angel aka Bruce; Father Joaquin (Maria) Barajas, Mother Christina
Martinez, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, nieces, nephews, and a community of family and friends
whose lives he touched through his steady presence and willingness to show up when
called upon.

Roberto had a gift for fixing things and making a difference in other people's lives.
Whether he was under the hood of a car or lending a hand to someone in need, he
approached both with the same quiet determination and generosity. His hands were
always busy; working on vehicles, solving mechanical puzzles, helping neighbors and
friends through whatever came their way. He found joy in the work itself and in knowing
he'd made someone's day a little brighter. His personality was big enough to fill any
space, and his sense of humor would keep everyone laughing. Roberto never met a
stranger, only a friend he didn't know yet.
