Roger T. McEvoy, age 73, passed away peacefully at Oakland Manor on January 8, 2026.
He was born March 27, 1952, to the late Timothy and Dorothy (Hays) McEvoy in Council Bluffs, IA. Roger graduated from Tri-Center High School with the class of 1970 and then attended Iowa Western Community College. Roger developed a lifelong fascination with airplanes that shaped both his career and his hobbies. He proudly earned his private pilot's license and spent many years working as an aircraft mechanic, a profession that reflected his precision, curiosity, and strong work ethic. Roger also worked for Mannheim Steamroller.
Roger found joy in working with his hands. He loved classic cars, antiques, carpentry and tinkering, and could often be found fixing, restoring, or improving something simply for the satisfaction of figuring it out. These interests were more than hobbies - they were part of who he was.
Above all, Roger was a devoted father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tim and Dorothy McEvoy; and an infant son, Scott McEvoy.
Roger is survived by his sons, Bryan McEvoy (Ashley) and Justin McEvoy (Jade); his cherished grandchildren, Nolan, Weston, Tessa, and Naomi who brought him great pride and happiness; siblings, Beverly Ahrenholtz, Kathy Dawson (Dave), and Joyce Peatrowsky (Mark); nieces, nephews, and cousins.
