Roger Floyd Young

Roger was born April 18, 1954 and passed away on Sept. 13, 2026 at the age of 72.

Roger lived in Elk Horn, IA and attended school there through elementary, junior high and his freshman year of high school.

In 1969 Roger and his family moved to Oakland, IA where he attended high school.

Roger married Gwendolyne Brittain on August 5th, 1985. They had two children, Tony Brittain and Samantha Young.

Roger worked for Henry Well Co. in Oakland, IA and American Concrete in Atlantic, IA.

Throughout his life Roger enjoyed boating, water skiing, riding his Harley Davidson. Roger was a music lover who was passionate about the Beatles and also an avid reader.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Eola Petersen Young and Dave L. Young, and his daughter, Samantha Young Frimodt.

Roger is survived by his son, Tony Brittain of Council Bluffs, IA, and his sisters, Trudy Juelsgaard of Elk Horn, IA, Lynne Young of Council Bluffs, IA, and Laura Young of Orange Park, FL.

To honor Roger's memory, on Oct. 1st we will be having a Celebration of Life at Botna Bend Olsen Lodge in Hancock, IA from 4:30-7:30 PM. A light meal will be served.
