Roland Lynch

Roland Lynch, 91, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on March 12, 2026.

Born in November 1934 in Council Bluffs, he graduated from North High School (Des Moines) in 1954. He served in the Army (1954-1957) as a helicopter repair specialist and later joined the Iowa Army National Guard until 1981.

Roland worked as a computer programmer for a pharmaceutical company and as project manager for the Iowa DOT, retiring in 1997. Roland shared his grandfather's love of the railroad and steam engines. He spent a great deal of his retirement joining clubs, supporting and attending various railroad events.

He is survived by his brother Robert and sister Sharon, two children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr and Dorothy Lynch, and son Rodney. He will be dearly missed by his entire family, and many friends in the Council Bluffs community.

Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Omaha National Cemetery.
