Russell Brandt

Russell Charles Brandt died peacefully at his home December 15, 2024.

He was born December 16, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska. Russell was the eldest child of Bernice and Charles Brandt. A life long resident of Council Bluffs, he graduated from Lewis Central High School and Iowa State University. Russell was an avid fan of high school and college athletics. He supported the Cyclones and was never shy about sharing his opinions on the Huskers.

Russell is survived by sisters Claudia (Roger) Gehring, Lake Oswego, OR; Elaine (Michael) Brown, Council Bluffs; brother Boyd (Susan) Brandt, Council Bluffs, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Russell's life will be held at a later date.
