Sandra Jean Nohrenberg Rutledge passed away April 15th. She was born on Feb 3, 1944 in Omaha Nebraska to Lilly & Christian Nohrenberg. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1962 and Sandra was united in marriage in 1964 to the love of her life Dennis Rutledge.
Sandy lived in Council Bluffs her entire life and truly enjoyed her family, friends and the community.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother were a few of her most treasured roles. She spent countless hours at various sporting events and church activities supporting Cindy, David and all of her grandkids.
Throughout the years, Sandy was an active member of several organizations including 4H, Service League, the Luther League youth group, PEO, book club and garden club among others.
She cherished the relationships made throughout the years and enjoyed helping in the community.
Sandy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends every year on their trip to the lake. The memories made along with the friendships were priceless.
Sandy is survived by her husband Dennis; daughter, Cindy (Doug) Cox of Treynor, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Kemper, Jason (Randi), & Justin; son, David (Teresa) Rutledge of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Ainsley, Garret & Brooklynn.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2023. The family will direct memorials.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or First Christian Church.
