Santiago Mendoza

Santiago Mendoza, age 76, passed away on August 16, 2026.

Santiago was born on July 25, 1950, to Pascual and Dolores (Huerta) Mendoza in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Santiago proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 12, 1971, he married Sandy, and together they built a life centered around family, faith, and the many friendships they made along the way.

Above all, Santiago loved his family. His children and grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy, and he treasured the time spent with those he loved. He was also a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and faithfully served his church for many years.

A true craftsman, Santiago had a gift for woodworking and enjoyed creating things with his hands. His skill, creativity, and attention to detail made him a master craftsman. He was equally known for his quick wit and sense of humor, and he had a way of bringing laughter to those around him.

Santiago was blessed with many friends throughout his life and will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his faith, his creativity, and the friendships he valued so deeply.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gonzalo Mendoza, Pascual "Skip" Mendoza, Connie Owens, Leopoldo Mendoza, Soledad "Chole" Tamayo; twin daughters, Nicolina and Mercedes Mendoza.

Santiago is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Sarita Mendoza, Alisia (Jeff) Huey, Trenida Mendoza, Santiago Jr. (Brittany) Mendoza, Angelica (Mark) McGloin, Luciana (Alex) Schard; 14 grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Jesus (Janice) Mendoza, Carmela Cordova, Maria Stockton, Arturo (Helen) Mendoza, Christina (Joe) Blakely, Jose (Consuelo) Mendoza; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2026. Interment is in Garner Township Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
