Shirley Beth Hiffernan

Shirley B. Hiffernan, age 90 of Council Bluffs passed away October 15, 2015. She was born October 10-1925 in Tekamah, Nebraska to the late Frank and Orpha (Kohler) Kelly. Shirley worked at the Omaha World Herald for over 25 years before her retirement and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters Norma and Mary; her brother Jack; and great-aunt Gertrude "Dude" Woods. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Drummy, sons, John Hiffernan (Patty), Rick Hiffernan (Gata), brother, John Kelly; special niece, Vicki Matthai, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 20, 2015 with a funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment is in the Garner Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Epworth United Methodist Church.
