Tammy Jo Duhachek

Tammy Jo Duhachek, age 63, passed away at Nebraska Medicine on July 26, 2026 after a brave fight with cancer.

She was born February 11, 1963 to Kenneth and Delores (Johnson) Mauer in Council Bluffs, IA. Tammy graduated from Tri-Center High School with the class of 1981 and earned a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Apparel Design / Fashion Merchandising.

Tammy worked for hospitals in Ames, IA and Omaha, NE as a medical transcriptionist and performed data entry.

Tammy enjoyed sewing and fabric art projects, providing the kids with many memorable Halloween costumes. She also enjoyed playing the piano and cake decorating.

Much of her time in later years was filled with the home schooling of her children and supporting them in their many activities of dance, gymnastics, art and drama.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Mauer.

Tammy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mark Duhachek; children Tia Duhachek, Brock Duhachek, and Nika Duhachek; mother, Delores Wilkins; siblings Ernie Wede, Jr (Connie), Debra Elias (Larry), Denise Kline (Lynn), Diane Grimes, Karen Carlson (Jerry); brothers-in-law, Kirk Duhachek (Asure) and Scott Duhachek (Sue); nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, August 07, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Silver Creek United Methodist Church - Hancock on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The family will direct memorials.
