Thana G. Athey

Thana G. Athey age 74 of Council Bluffs passed away August 30, 2012 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Council Bluffs on April 4, 1938. Thana worked for many years as a secretary at First National Bank of Omaha. In addition to her parents, Louis and Eleanor (Thompson) Poulos, she was preceded in death by her brother, Andy Poulos; sister, Connie Carman. Thana is survived by her husband, Joseph ?Joe? Athey to whom she married May 30, 1958; sons, Michael Athey (Wende) and Jeffrey Athey (Kristine); sisters, Margaret Athay, Elaine Arrison, Kathie Schweiss (Jim), Pam Rasmussen (Gene); brother, Ted Poulos (Jackie); grandsons, Scott Athey and David Athey; aunt, Maxine Roberts; a host of other family and friends Visitation is Monday 6-8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral is Tuesday 11AM at the funeral home. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a reception in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Memorials are suggested towards the new animal shelter for Council Bluffs.
