Thomas Mooney

Thomas A. Mooney, age 57, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital November 28, 2025.He was born July 28, 1968, to the late Allen and Evelyn (Whitehouse) Mooney in Sioux City, IA. Thomas graduated from Remsen Union High School with the class of 1988.

In December 1988, Tom and Wendy met while working at Hardee's in Glenwood, IA and later married in 1993 in Denison, IA. 

Tom had a variety of jobs, but his favorite was changing oil at Eddys in Council Bluffs and working at the Race Track outside of Pacific Junction. He was passionate about cars, his dogs and birds. Tom enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed going back to his hometown of Spencer to the Clay County Fair, as well as visiting the Iowa State Fair.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Echo LaCaille.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wendy Mooney; father-in-law, Keith Dobler; sister-in-law, Nancy Kohler (Daniel); a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
