Wayne Wood

Wayne O. Wood, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026.

He was born September 15, 1939, to Orville and Mildred Wood in Bedford, IA. Wayne graduated from New Market High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Army. Wayne worked for Braniff Airlines for over 25 years and then finished his career with the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office, retiring a deputy in the Civil Division.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Wood; father, Orville Wood; mother, Mildred Wood; step mother, Erma Wood; sister, Carolyn Parsons.

Wayne is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Casey & Janelle Wood; grandchildren, Aaron Wayne Wood (Maggie), and Michaela Boeka (Alex); great grandchildren, Sylvester Wayne Wood and Norabelle Wood; sister-in-law, Gloria Baldwin.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. The family will direct memorials.
