William H. "Bill" Phillips, age 78, passed away November 6, 2022.
He was born September 17, 1944, to the late Lester and Mary (Hallam) Phillips in Council Bluffs, IA. Bill graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1962. He served in the Army Reserves for 7 years. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2004 after 42 years of service. He then had an acreage mowing and snow removal business, and drove a school bus for Lewis Central. Bill was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and served on their board of trustees. He was also a member of NARVRE for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Model A cars, but his real joy in life was his family. He loved to spend time with them and take the kids to their activities. He and Sharon just celebrated 58 years of marriage. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Tiedemann, Frances Armington and Carol Collier.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Phillips; daughters, Jackie Jenkins, Shari (Vern) Jones, and Mandi (Jason) Dalton; grandchildren, Julia Jenkins, Jade Jenkins, Brandon Jones, Dalton Jones, Ryan Jones, Preston Jones, Pierce Dalton, and Desmond Dalton; great grandson, Colton Jones; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Broadway United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Interment is in Ridgewood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Broadway Methodist UWF, NARVRE Unit #30, or Hillcrest Hospice.
