William Walter Wurgler Jr., age 88, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1937, in Omaha, where he lived his entire life surrounded by family and friends.
William graduated from Kemper Military School and went on to co-found Wurgler Photo with his father. Together, they built a respected commercial photography business that served the Omaha community for many years. In addition to their professional work, William and his father provided photography services for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, where William also proudly served in the Sheriff's Department Reserves, advancing to the rank of Sergeant.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, William's greatest joy was his family. He loved sharing coffee with his wife, bringing doughnuts to his kids and grandkids, and creating a home filled with warmth, safety, and love. In his younger years, he enjoyed cars and, throughout his life, shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, affectionately known as "the girls."
William will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. He never wished to be a burden to anyone and lived each day with quiet strength and compassion. He was the last surviving sibling of five children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela J. Poe Wurgler, and his sons, William (Bill) Wurgler III, Gerald Wurgler, Jeffrey Wurgler, Michael Wurgler and Tyler Alford, along with his cherished grandchildren and extended family.
A private family service will be held to honor his life.
